Review: American Carnage is a fun horror movie that will keep viewers constantly guessing what is going to happen next. The plot revolves around the children of immigrants who get unexpectedly taken and put into cages in detention centers. When a chance of freedom is offered to them which requires them to help out at an elderly home for three months. What could possibly go wrong?…
American Carnage takes its name from a quote in a speech delivered by former President Donald Trump. American Carnage plays out a story of how things could have potentially panned out having someone like him stay in power longer than he did. Depending on your political view you will either like or hate this movie, but all around we need to remember, movies are just fun and a great form of escapism.
Brett Cullen plays the Texas Governor who gives the order for all immigrants to be locked up, though Brett’s part is small, he delivers the goods and plays the part of a corrupt political official very tongue-in-cheek.
Jenna Ortega who is riding high on the horror rollercoaster of fame shows us she is earning her scream queen title, Scream and X really helped boost her credentials in the genre. Jorge Lendeborg Jr. leads as JP who along with his sister Lily (Yumarie Morales) end up among the ones taken, only they get separated along the way and part of JP’s reasoning for going to the facility is to eventually find out where his sister has gone.
American Carnage sets up a good story and has characters that you truly root for, a favourite will be Big Mac played by Allen Maldonado who steals every scene he is in along with getting some of the best lines in the movie.
American Carnage is the perfect movie to kick back and watch on a Saturday night with a group of friends, it has moments of shock, humour and of course gore. It has all the ingredients to keep everyone satisfied! Be sure to check this one out!
