Countdown (2025) Episode 107 – Nothing Else Helps Review

Countdown TV series starring Jensen Ackles on Amazon

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

“Meachum references John Wick”—review done. Kidding… but let’s be honest, that moment alone deserves a chef’s kiss. It’s a fun nod and a highlight in an episode that’s a bit more tactical than explosive—but still heavy with tension.

This time, Meachum and Oliveras team up to take down an illegal weapons supplier. The result? A short but punchy foot chase that ends with a collar and a potential lead on a shipment of Russian weapons. Unfortunately, it turns out to be a bust, and the frustration starts to crack through the team’s armour. Trust is becoming a luxury—and everyone’s giving each other the side-eye.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Volchek’s operation is drawing unwanted attention. He’s ordered to stand down, and General Consul Aptapov’s security detail sends a brutal message to make the point—threatening to bleed him out by his ankles. Yikes. But this is Volchek we’re talking about—cool, collected, and always two steps ahead. He flips the power dynamic like a pro. You can try to intimidate him, but Volchek doesn’t blink.

Back on the task force’s end, the name “Gallagher” finally starts to unravel, leading to a raid that has the team hoping they’re finally one step closer to Volchek. But once again, he’s slippery. The trucks have been re-skinned and scattered through the city—a slick move that leaves the team playing catch-up again.

This episode dials back the wild stunt work (no desert car-leaps this time), but what it does do is build—plot, characters, and stakes. Meachum finally opens up to Oliveras and fully confesses about his illness. The emotional weight is starting to show, and Meachum wears it like a man fighting time itself. It’s raw and real, and it adds more layers to a guy we already can’t take our eyes off.

Agent Bell is also stepping into the spotlight, and he’s facing a big choice. He’s walking a thin line that could cost him not just his job, but his life. There’s a storm brewing, and Bell’s role in it could be make or break.

Countdown continues to prove it’s not just about explosions and car chases (though we love those too). It’s about loyalty, trust, and how much you’re willing to sacrifice when the stakes keep climbing. Episode 107 may be the calm before the storm—but it’s filled with tension, character development, and that trademark bite that keeps us coming back.
