Action Reloaded welcomes back action star and martial artist Daniel Bernhardt for an exclusive interview, discussing his latest projects, the possibility of Deathstalker 2, and his incredible career in action cinema.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Bernhardt has established himself as one of the industry’s most respected action performers. From his breakthrough in Bloodsport 2 to appearances in The Matrix Reloaded, John Wick, Nobody and Ballerina, he’s continued to deliver memorable performances both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
His latest project, Matchbox: The Movie, sees him joining an impressive cast led by John Cena and Jessica Biel. Directed by Sam Hargrave, the Apple TV action adventure brings the iconic toy car brand to life with spectacular vehicle sequences, practical stunts and plenty of explosive action.
We discuss his experience working on the production, the demands of action filmmaking and the craft that goes into bringing ambitious stunt sequences to the screen.
We also turn our attention to Deathstalker, the sword-and-sorcery adventure directed by Steven Kostanski. Bernhardt took on the title role in the reimagining of the cult franchise, and we discuss the possibility of returning for another adventure.
