Dead Trigger Review (2018)

Dead Trigger (2018)

Directed By: Mike Cuff & Scott Windhauser

Starring: Dolph Lundgren, Autumn Reeser and Isaiah Washington

Synopsis: A mysterious virus has killed billions and turned many others into bloodthirsty zombies. Unable to stop the virus, the government develops a video game, “Dead Trigger,” that mirrors the terrifying events that curse the world.

Review: Dolph Lundgren stars as tough undead killer Kyle Walker, an ex cop who is now an elite soldier in the war against the undead, boasting the most kill of the undead in the quarantined cities.

What’s better than Dolph Lundgren killing zombies? I loved his first bout with the undead in Battle Of The Damned. This movie has a more Walking Dead vibe to it and Dolphs character is pretty cool, we also get to see Dolph throw some kicks and punches, which always gets me excited especially with kicks as Dolph never really gets to show off his kicking ability.

Dolph has a team to help him wipe out the zombies, who to be honest we never really invest in as we know they are mainly zombie lunch. Isaiah Washington has a small role as Dolphs counter-part but the main fighting etc is all Dolph front and centre. As expected the movie isn’t a big budget Hollywood blockbuster but if you are willing to accept that and kick back with a few beers you will have a fun time. Constant action mixed with some comedy makes this film a solid entry from Lundgren and by the end of the film you are left wanting to see more of Lundgren’s character and his story. Overall this movie gets a solid 3/5 from me.
