Directed By: Bradley Parker

Starring: Alicia Sanz, Adan Canto, Zach Avery, Chinaza Uche, Jesse Latourette, with Jonathan Sadowski and Will Patton

Synopsis: There is an abandoned place nestled deep in Appalachian country where underground coal mines have been ablaze for decades. When a team of researchers try to find out how the fires started, they soon discover something more startling than the mystery that sent them there: they’re not alone.

Review: The Devil Below is a fun friday night beer and popcorn flick, it may not win everyone over but it is a fun movie and is very throwback.

The Devil Below opens with a huge bang! We meet Will Patton’s character and then BOOM his son is killed and dragged into the distance by some unseen being… you will find yourself hooked to the screen.

We cut to some time later and meet our tough as nails female lead played by Alicia Sanz, her character is leading a group of scientist to the site where all the horror took place involving in the beginning. On the way to the site they’re followed but manage to lose the car tailing them. When our group finally gets to where everything happened, hell breaks loose.

Bodies pile up and the hunt begins as swarms of these creatures spew out of the ground wiping out everything in site.

Lucky for the group is that Will Patton and a rag tag group have been keeping the place in check and have kept it safe, up until these scientists arrived and opened up a proverbial portal to hell.

Alicia Sanz makes a believable badass lead and of another Tomb Raider is on the horizon I know who I’d want to see in the role. Will Patton is always welcome on screen and I wish he had more screen time.

Overall it was a fun movie! I’d say get some beers and popcorn and enjoy!
