Anwar – A truly stunning story!

Anwar is a beautiful story that explores immortality, the natural order of life, and the deep bond between a mother and son. The film has immense potential to expand into a masterpiece—not that it isn’t one already. Honestly, with a bigger budget and an even sharper focus on its emotional core, I have no doubt it could easily nab an Oscar.

Anwar has heart and soul, and it would be amazing to spend more time with him through different stages of his life. This film was shot in just four days, and yet it’s already a truly stunning story. Imagine what could be achieved with more time. The cinematography is breathtaking—Anwar’s retreat to the lake in the woods is awe-inspiring.

Anwar’s decision to live a natural human life, like his father before him, was his own choice. His mother, on the other hand, chose eternity and had hoped he would too. Seeing Anwar grow from a boy to an old man, then perhaps wondering if it’s too late to change his mind—contemplating eternal life but ultimately letting that curiosity slip away—is something I imagine everyone faces on their deathbed.

The cast delivers knockout performances, making this the kind of film that lingers with you long after watching. It forces you to ask yourself: What would I do in this situation? What choices would I make for my future, my family, my legacy? The weight of a decision that leads to watching loved ones pass on while being left behind—it’s deeply thought-provoking.

Anwar is an instant hit.
