Chuck Norris, The Finisher (2015) What Happened To The Movie

Back in 2014, Chuck Norris announced in an interview that he would soon begin filming a new movie titled The Finisher. From what I’ve gathered, Norris was set to play a retired hitman. In the video below he mentions the project himself, and he certainly seems enthusiastic about making it.

That’s why I’m so curious about what actually happened. Did Chuck pull out? Did the funding collapse? Was there a scheduling conflict? If anyone knows the real story, please leave a comment — I’ve been unable to find any information online confirming whether the film was officially cancelled or simply faded away.

For me, this sounded like it could have been something really special — a definite hit for Norris. After 2005’s Trial by Fire, the final Walker, Texas Ranger instalment, Chuck quietly stepped away from the spotlight. He did return for a memorable cameo in The Expendables 2, and in more recent years he’s taken on a few smaller roles, but nothing on the scale of his earlier work.

A major comeback film would have been warmly welcomed. Norris has always had an incredibly loyal fan base, and many of us were hoping he’d make a grand return to the big screen.
