Hard Night Falling (2019)

Directed By: Giorgio Bruno

Starring: Dolph Lundgren, Hal Yamanouchi, Natalie Burn, Ralph Palka

Synopsis: Screen legend Dolph Lundgren highlights this intense action thriller. After years fighting crime at Interpol, agent Michael Anderson (Lundgren) takes the night off to reconnect with his estranged wife and teen daughter at an Italian villa. But their peaceful night is shattered as mastermind Goro and his mercenaries invade the property, hoping to find a lost cache of gold. With his family in danger, Anderson summons his team of crack operatives to help turn the tide and wipe Goro off the map.

Review: Dolph Lundgren returns to the screen with director Giorgio Bruno for the solid action thriller Hard Night Falling. I will have to admit I was thrilled when I read the synopsis, Dolphs previous effort ‘The Tracker’ was a weak action movie I started to have some doubts about this.

Going in… I hadn’t high expectations.. But I am pleased to report it is an entertaining action movie. Dolph is in the movie throughout and is kicking ass and shooting people quite frequently. The movie doesn’t slow its pace for filler, which is a joy.

Hard Night Falling sees Dolph do Die Hard while Under Siege. Though Dolph does get outshined by his co-star Natalie Burn who has some very impressive moments and gets all the best takedowns which I’m sure will have people impressed. The movie is familiar territory for Lundgren who has done this kind of movie before, for example, Command Performance.

This movie is typical B-movie fare and if you know what your getting when you go into it, you should have a good time with it. I was glad too see Dolph back on the screen punching people and not taking names.
