S.W.A.T. EXILES: Shemar Moore Returns in Bold New Spinoff

Just days after the explosive conclusion of S.W.A.T.’s eighth season, fans have reason to celebrate: a new spinoff, S.W.A.T. EXILES, is officially in the works. Shemar Moore is set to reprise his role as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, bringing his signature intensity and leadership to this fresh chapter.

In S.W.A.T. EXILES, Hondo emerges from retirement to lead an experimental unit formed in the aftermath of a high-profile mission gone awry. Tasked with molding a team of inexperienced recruits, Hondo faces the challenge of uniting diverse personalities into a cohesive force capable of tackling Los Angeles’s most dangerous threats. The series promises to delve into themes of mentorship, redemption, and the complexities of modern law enforcement.

The first season will consist of 10 episodes, with production slated to begin in Los Angeles during the summer of 2025. Jason Ning, known for his work on Lucifer and The Expanse, will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, James Scura, and Moore himself.

Moore expressed his enthusiasm for the project, acknowledging the bittersweet nature of moving forward without his longtime castmates but emphasizing the importance of evolution and growth. “We entertained the world, defied the odds, came back from the dead twice, and continued to woo fans and families worldwide,” Moore stated. “I will keep the franchise, thrill ride action, heartfelt … .”

*S.W.A.T. EX … * aims to honor the legacy of its predecessor while carving out its own identity, offering fans a blend of high-stakes action and emotional storytelling. With Moore at the helm, the series is poised to deliver a compelling new chapter in the S.W.A.T. saga.
