The Terminal List: Dark Wolf–Episode 4 Review

Predators roam. Loyalties shift. Episode 4 of Dark wolf throws the rules out the window and fades to black on a total jaw-dropper.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Dark Wolf Episode 4 doesn’t just escalate—it detonates.

Titled The Sound of Guns, this episode isn’t afraid to go dark, push boundaries, and remind us that this world of clandestine operations is full of predators. And sometimes, those predators are hiding in plain sight.

This chapter wastes no time setting its tone: Landry crosses a line no man should ever cross, and the team’s reaction is ice-cold and lethal in its restraint. The scene with Eliza stepping up and shutting him down is powerful—tense, empowering, and filled with the kind of seething energy that promises retribution. Watching Hastings (Tom Hopper) and Edwards (Taylor Kitsch) silently loom in the background is cinematic gold. No words needed. You know violence is only a breath away.

The episode keeps up a blistering pace as Haverford’s Iranian contact starts to crack under the pressure. It’s a harsh reminder that not everyone’s cut out for this high-stakes chessboard—and those who fumble get removed from the game.

And then there’s the mission—a hit-and-grab that’s supposed to be surgical but explodes into chaos. What unfolds is a beautifully orchestrated firefight, easily the standout action set piece of the season so far. Close-quarters, full-auto madness with tactically sharp direction. It’s gritty, it’s fast, and it’s savage. Fans of Sicario, SEAL Team, and The Terminal List will feel right at home.

Kitsch continues to show us the evolution of Ben Edwards, and it’s compelling as hell. He’s no longer just a Navy SEAL—he’s stepping deeper into CIA Black Ops, and the toll it’s taking is showing. Yet, there’s still that spark of loyalty, that bond of brotherhood, especially between him and Hastings, that reminds you Edwards still has a code. For now.

And just when you think the dust has settled—BOOM. That ending. A true “What the hell just happened?” moment that flips the board and leaves you staring at the screen like, Wait, WHAT?

This episode is Dark Wolf at its best: morally murky, emotionally charged, and tactically thrilling. The show continues to fire on all cylinders, with strong performances, tight direction, and a narrative that refuses to let you breathe. This is the kind of episode you rewind immediately just to feel the rush again.
