English Dogs In Bangkok (2020) Review

Synopsis: In the streets of Thailand, a trail of destruction and mayhem ensues when a notorious soldier (Byron Gibson) and criminal kickboxer (Ron Smoorenburg) join forces to become the biggest illegal steroid supplier in Asia.

Review: English Dogs In Bangkok was one of my most anticipated movies and I finally got around too seeing it.

English Dogs grabs your attention the moment the movie opens, having Byron Gibson narrating from the movies opening was a nice touch. A throw back to classic British gangster movies like Snatch and Sexy Beast to name a couple.

The movies focus is on on the steroid trade which I honestly didn’t know was as big as it was.

Our two main characters Byron (Byron Gibson) and Dutch (Ron Smoorenburg) partner up and become the biggest seller of illegal steroids. When we first meet Byron Gibsons character subtly named Byron he has trouble finding him at every turn and whatever situation he ends up in, he lets his fists do the talking.

Dutch on the other hand is an established badass in his own right, a very skilled and dangerous man that only has to glare at you too make you back down. Dutch has respect, patience and a crocodile farm. He’s untouchable.

What i loved about this movie was Gibson had his own storyline and Smoorenburg had his own storyline but when they partner up both of their stories and worlds come together. One doesn’t outshine the other. The script done well in ensuring both characters were treated fairly and one wasn’t given all the limelight.

The movie has enough violence too keep us action junkies hooked, Ron gets a couple of throw downs with a highlight being him and martial arts speedster Mark Stas going toe to toe and Byron gets a brutal throwdown with David Bkazejko which is quite ‘shocking’ too say the least.

Overall English Dogs is a hard hitting, roid raging, neon filled wild ride that will keep you hooked from the moment the movie opens. Byron and Ron are perfectly cast in this hard hitting action thrill-ride!

One too be watched for sure.
