The Predator franchise makes a triumphant return, director Dan Trachtenberg brings us the best Predator movie since the original. okay, this may be slightly better.

The hunt is on

Prey is the first movie in the standalone Predator franchise to feature a female lead which is quite refreshing and actress Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road) delivers a rip-roaring performance as Naru, a tribe member with an exceptional set of fighting skills who is trying to protect her tribe. Naru wants to earn her place as a hunter in the tribe and in order to do so, she must hunt something that is hunting her. It’s safe to assume Predator wasn’t on the list of candidates. We follow Naru and her trusty dog Sarri in their quest to be hunters.

The Predator is back!

Prey features a different version of The Predator, this Predator is feral and loves to hunt. We get tt see some really cool scenes of the Predator hunting different types of ‘Predators’. Prey showcases how much of a badass the character can be. The Predator also get to show off some awesome new weaponry and has a new design which fits within the tones of the movie and the era it is set in.

The action set pieces are amazing and probably some of the best the franchise has seen. We get to follow Naru on her journey to becoming a hunter and we get to follow the Predator on his journey at becoming the most dominant in the food chain.

Prey features plenty of gore and we get to see The Predator dispatch many people and animals in brutal fashion. Some highlights are, Predator vs Bear, Naru vs Lion and Predator vs French Voyageurs, to names a few. The movie features so many great moments that will stick with fans.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Prey has taken place as the best entry in the franchise. Leading lady, Amber Midthunder delivers an outstanding perfomance, a character that speaks with more actions and emotions rather than words. It takes a gifted actress/actor to be able to lead a movie with this style and Amber has shown us she has this gift.

Director, Dan Trachtenberg has got the Predator franchise back on track, lets hope for more entries, sooner rather than later.
